There are days when you just want to look at artworks and drink coffee after, or the other way around. And there is a perfect place in Makati to do just that.

Along the stretch of Chino Roces Avenue is a creative neighborhood where galleries and cafés thrive. It serves as an excellent space for art enthusiasts and coffee lovers alike, a place to go on a visual feast, take a breather, and be inspired.  

Silverlens Gallery

With galleries in both Manila and New York, Silverlens is a place that spotlights creations by emerging and established Filipino contemporary artists. The international gallery features an expansive, minimalist space with multiple viewing rooms, allowing visitors to roam around and immerse themselves in the artworks.

Silverlens Gallery is located at 2263 Chino Roces Avenue, Makati. It is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday to Saturday, with free admission.

Majikasa

Just a minute walk from Silverlens Gallery is Majikasa, a café hidden behind a warehouse. The place boasts of a whimsical interior with beautifully curated decor, making every corner a picture-worthy spot.

The café offers drinks and pastries ranging from P125 to P210. With free wifi and power outlets, it’s a cozy spot for hangouts with friends, study sessions, or simply a coffee break after exploring art galleries in the area.

Majikasa is located at 2100 Chino Roces Ave. and is open from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Mondays and Tuesdays, 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM on Fridays to Sundays.

The Drawing Room

Located at The Alley at Karrivin Plaza, 2316 Chino Roces Ave., The Drawing Room is a gallery that exhibits a wide range of local contemporary artworks from both budding and prominent artists. The art pieces are neatly arranged in a vast, well-lit, and all-white space where visitors can explore and appreciate each creation in detail.

Entrance to The Drawing Room is free, and the gallery is open from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Tuesday to Saturday.

Three Squares Cafe + Bar

Another café nestled in a surprising spot is the Three Squares Cafe + Bar, tucked inside a furniture store where you wouldn’t expect to find coffee. Only a minute walk from The Drawing Room gallery, the café features eye-catching furniture and homeware pieces, creating a homey, warm, yet stylish ambiance. 

Three Squares Cafe + Bar offers a variety of drinks, including lattes, cocktails, and food options such as pasta and rice meals. They are located at The Alley at Karrivin Plaza and are open daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. 

Artinformal Gallery 

If you’re searching for another gallery that is near Three Squares Cafe + Bar, Artinformal is the place to be. The gallery promotes and showcases a diverse array of art forms by Filipino artists, ranging from painting, sculpture, and pottery to multimedia, installation, and performances. 

Its current location presents three exhibition spaces, highlighting solo exhibitions and inviting gallery-goers to explore the variety of artworks.

Antiformal Gallery is also located in The Alley at Karrivin Plaza and is open Tuesday to Saturday, 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with free admission.
