More Than 12 Years of Celebrating Filipino Music
With the theme “Pinoy Coded,” the annual Linggo Ng Musikang Pilipino returns for a month-long celebration of local music and artistry.

For more than a decade, the Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-Aawit (OPM) and the Filipino Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, Inc. (FILSCAP) organizes and spearheads the Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino (LMP).
With this year’s theme Pinoy Coded, LMP 2026 addresses the ever-growing and evolving landscape of the local music industry and artistry. It is a response to how Filipino music has been consistently recognized both internationally and locally, reflecting the nation’s culture, stories, and shared experiences.
When Filipino music becomes more appreciated, the industry grows further and further. It allows our identity to be cultivated, the love for it becoming fuller.
LMP 2026 consists of multiple programs spanning several days. From educational initiatives to open mic sessions, each week of July is met with an event or project that puts Filipino music on the center stage.

Throughout the weekends of July, LMP 2026 is restaging their concert series called OPM Spotlights, where member-artists of OPM perform original songs and covers of familiar Filipino classics. Stages can be found across the Philippines, including Baguio, Palawan, and Iloilo.
This decision of the organizers allows Filipino musicians from across the country to be recognized in this national celebration. Diversity remains a constant advocacy of the organizers, and through this where up-and-coming voices are amplified from across several regions.
Similarly, from July 25 to July 31, LMP 2026 is presenting the Rockwell Series, showcasing an all-OPM acoustic showcase in Power Plant Mall, Makati City.
11 OPM artists are set to rock the stage, featuring homegrown talent and the people who make it happen.

It’s also on July 25 when LMP 2026: Music Talk Series will happen at Trinoma Cinema 6. As an educational initiative encouraging dialogue and collaboration, leading music industry professionals will talk about topics covering their expertises. Participants can expect discussions on the current landscape, trends, and operations within the music industry.
For those who want to perform their heart out, LMP 2026 is holding OPM-ic: Open Mic Night on July 29 at The Backdoor in Maginhawa, Quezon City.
This initiative is for the emerging and non-OPM artists, proving that fresh voices also make up the Filipino music industry. Proceeds from the event are to support OPM’s future projects and initiatives just like LMP 2026.
Through these initiatives, LMP 2026 proves that the Filipino music industry is never faltering. While the local music scene keeps changing, it’s precisely that which makes it more interesting.
More diverse voices keeps the local music industry alive, and LMP 2026 allows music enthusiasts to enjoy, appreciate, and support the music Filipinos make—in a bigger, grander way.
