What happens when love, humor, and courage converge on stage?
‘Walang Aray,’ PETA’s acclaimed musical comedy and a playful reinterpretation of Severino Reyes’ classic zarzuela ‘Walang Sugat,’ returns with an electrifying comeback. From August 29 to October 12, 2025, the PETA Theater Center will once again come alive with this reimagined production, featuring refreshed staging and a powerful new cast lineup.
As the opening act for PETA’s 58th season, which centers on the theme of “Love and Power,” ‘Walang Aray’ returns with both heart and humor, reminding us that courage and passion are two sides of the same coin.
Director Ian Segarra reprises his role at the helm of the production, this time joined by Associate Director Norbs Portales. Together, they refine the show with sharper writing and enhanced staging, all while preserving the wit and heart of Rody Vera’s acclaimed script. Composer Vince Lim adds a fresh touch with a new song, enriching the already memorable score and blending the familiar with the new.
The cast features a dynamic mix of seasoned performers and fresh faces. Versatile performer Lance Reblando makes her ‘Walang Aray’ debut as Julia, bringing a fresh perspective and captivating presence to the role. Returning fan favorites Gio Gahol and Jon Abella once again embody Tenyong, while Shaira Opsimar and Marynor Madamesila reprise their roles as Julia.
Joining them are original cast members Bene Manaois (Miguel), Kiki Baento (Monica), Carlon Matobato (Lucas), Neomi Gonzales (Juana), Gie Onida and Csairus Habla (Don Tadeo), and Johnnie Moran (Padre Alfaro). The ensemble is further energized by the talented Jarred Jaicten, Gerard Dy, Yeyin de la Cruz, Ayla Garcia, and Ada Tayao.
Adding to the fresh lineup are Rendell Sanchez (Miguel), Divine Aucina (Monica), Gold Villar-Lim (Juana), and Roi Calilong (Padre Alfaro).
Jolina Magdangal and Ice Seguerra
Philippine pop culture icons Jolina Magdangal and Ice Seguerra add even more star power to this comeback. Magdangal takes on the flamboyant and over-the-top role of Doña Juana, while Seguerra brings charm and humor as Lucas, Tenyong’s loyal and spirited companion.
The production also introduces a powerhouse lineup of new cast members, including seasoned theater performers Rendell Sanchez, Divine Aucina, Gold Villar-Lim, and Roi Calilong, alongside talented newcomers James Lanante, MC Dela Cruz, Bomba Ding, Otep Madriaga, Miah Canton, Matel Patayon, and Zoe Damag.
From its playful satire to its poignant themes of love and resistance, ‘Walang Aray’ strikes a perfect balance between comedy and courage. With updated staging and captivating performances, this production invites both returning fans and first-time viewers to experience the magic all over again.
Tickets for ‘Walang Aray’ are now available on Ticket2Me with prices ranging from ₱1,200 to ₱2,500.
