After a relentless day of deadlines and hustle, the transition into evening carries a certain weight of expectation. Whether you are looking to chill at a favorite haunt, hang out with lifelong friends, or find a quiet corner to wander solo, we ask: what is the drink worth having to accompany that moment?
We often find ourselves in search of something that can keep pace with our shifting moods—be it a special occasion that demands a toast or a spontaneous night meeting new people in the heart of the city.
As Filipinos, we have an innate gift for celebration. We are a culture that famously goes all out, from our boundless hospitality to the way we inhabit the night. We deserve a spirit that mirrors that same unyielding intensity.
The arrival of Loca Loka Tequila in the Philippines marks the moment where our standard of celebration finally meets its match. Rooted in a “100 or nothing” philosophy, this award-winning, 100% agave tequila arrives as a bold invitation to elevate our standards, ensuring we never have to settle for the ordinary again.
The Wait is Over
The timing of this launch perfectly matches the Philippines' rise as one of the most sophisticated spirits destinations in the Asia-Pacific. With our premium segment experiencing a 15% year-on-year surge, we have become a community of drinkers who no longer just look for a label, but for the craft and the authentic storytelling behind it.
"The energy here is electric," shares co-founder Anirudh Ravichander. "Loca Loka’s artisanal blend captures the spontaneity and confidence of modern culture and that's exactly what Filipino nightlife embodies." It is this shared spirit of confidence that makes the brand feel like a natural extension of our local scene rather than just an import.
And in today’s digital-first culture, that confidence is often measured by a bottle’s ability to be "scroll-stopping" enough to capture attention on Instagram or TikTok, yet Loca Loka understands that aesthetic is only the beginning. While its sleek design is tailor-made for the modern social feed, it is the liquid’s unwavering integrity that fosters true consumer loyalty.
“Crazy World”
The name itself reflects a global ambition: Loca (Spanish for "crazy") meets Loka (Sanskrit for "world"). Co-founded in 2024 by entrepreneur Sree Harsha Vadlamudi, actor Rana Daggubati, and Ravichander, the brand celebrates a fusion of Mexican distillation heritage and creative vision. Every bottle represents a commitment to sustainable agave sourcing and a freshness that feels contemporary yet grounded in tradition.
"This isn't just tequila; it's a cultural dialogue between two vibrant worlds," Daggubati notes. "The Philippines understands storytelling, celebration, and craftsmanship—and Loca Loka speaks that language fluently."
This "Crazy World" identity perfectly mirrors the beautiful, unpredictable chaos of a night out. Sometimes, the best evenings are often the ones where we let go and embrace the "loca" moments—the unprompted detours, the new faces, and the wild energy that only happens after the sun goes down.
Blanco and Reposado Expressions
The tequila segment in our country is forecast to grow by 20%, Loca Loka distinguishes itself through a refusal to compromise on purity. Under the guidance of third-generation master distiller Willy Bañuelos Ramírez, the brand arrives with its award-winning Blanco and Reposado expressions—both 100% blue Weber agave and strictly additive-free.
Blanco Flat
"We refuse to take shortcuts, which means no artificial colors or glycerin," Ramírez asserts. "Filipino consumers are tasting three generations of knowledge distilled into bottles that represent tequila as it was meant to be—pure, honest, and expressive."
Reposado
The Loca Loka Blanco (SRP: Php 3300) is a crystal-clear tribute to the Jalisco highlands, offering an intense aroma of cooked agave followed by a silky palate of citrus, pear, and fresh mint. For those seeking more depth, the Loca Loka Reposado (SRP: Php 3700) is aged for 4–6 months in French and American oak, resulting in a pale golden spirit where natural agave sweetness meets rich notes of caramel, vanilla, and chocolate babka. Both expressions carry a 40% ABV and a medium-bodied texture, designed for a smooth, approachable sip that lingers long after the glass is empty.
Advocacy Over Volume
Loca Loka’s entry is a measured expansion. Global Business Head Rajiv Ghumman explains that the go-to-market strategy prioritizes "advocacy over volume," focusing on selective on-trade partnerships across Metro Manila, Cebu, and Boracay. The brand is targeting upscale bars, beach clubs, and five-star hospitality venues where craft cocktails and sipping culture thrive.
Supported by USD $12.5 million in Series A funding secured in March 2025, the brand is navigating unique logistical considerations to ensure its presence in the country's most refined hospitality infrastructures. "We're not chasing market share; we're building a category," says CEO Sree Harsha Vadlamudi.
A Secret Seven Years in the Making
The true realization for any connoisseur lies in the patience behind the bottle. While the nightlife it celebrates is fast-paced, the tequila itself is a secret seven years in the making—a journey that was planted years ago and raised with love and care. It is a nice reminder that the most rewarding experiences are the ones that were never rushed.
Each agave plant matures for six to eight years in Jalisco's volcanic soil before harvest. This dedication to slow maturation cycles and traditional tahona methods ensure a smooth finish that doesn't come easy. As the "100 or Nothing" campaign suggests, you deserve a spirit that was raised with mindful intention. Because with tequila, like in life, you deserve 100 or nothing.
