Reb Belleza’s The Reflex wall of art

Reb Belleza returns with his latest exhibit, ‘The Reflex and the 7 Astronauts,’ which opened at the Alliance Française de Manille’s gallery. It is a visual interpretation of his novel of the same name.

The exhibit delves into the metaphysical, created in collaboration with Archivo. Belleza’s newest works explore the cosmic unknown, weaving together the what-ifs and the what already is into a thought-provoking fusion of imagination and reality.

Reflex 23 (Oil on Canvas) (4x4ft)

A call from the vessel

Belleza’s exhibit incorporates the seven astronauts and their voyage to the unknown, using the canvas as a vessel to showcase their conflicting emotions as they traverse space. As the reflexes are reflected on the pieces, it also calls to the audience, reaching deep into our own conflicts.

Reflex 35 (Oil on Canvas) (4x4ft)

A minimalist turn

Mentored by one of the leading minimalist pioneers in the Philippines, Gus Albor, Belleza retains his usual style but with minimalist influences in his new pieces. His pieces, all new, showcase control of emotional intensity and spatial awareness, but still retain the same surreal quality of his work.

Teachings of August (Oil on Canvas) (4x5ft)

The exhibit will run from September 20 to October 11, 2025, and will be available for viewing from 9 AM to 6 PM on Mondays to Fridays, and from 9 AM to 5 PM on Saturdays. You may also view the catalogue through this link: https://www.alliance.ph/afm-gallery/#/
