In an industry where technology often evolves faster than production timelines, Sony Philippines is challenging filmmakers to rethink what’s possible.
Through its immersive CineAlta Experience held at Green Sun Hotel, the company gathered cinematographers and film enthusiasts to explore how technology can redefine both workflow and storytelling.
While the event showcased the highly anticipated Sony BURANO, its intent went beyond technical presentation. Sony positioned BURANO as a tool that bridges two worlds: high-end cinematic tools and fast-paced work style that modern productions demand.

The spotlighted version 2.0 update strengthened IBIS, 1.8x desqueeze, and refined color science, serving as evidence of Sony’s push toward cameras that adapt to filmmakers.
Sony Philippines President and Managing Director Shuhei Sugihara welcomed guests by encouraging them to rethink the standards that Philippine productions can achieve.
Meanwhile, accessory tools like the VENICE 2 and the compact RIALTO Mini expanded the conversation from “which camera should I use?” to “how do I build the right setup for the story I want to tell?”
Real-world experience

One of the highlights of the event came from its knowledge-sharing component. Oishi Takashi, Sony Creative Pro Marketing Manager, provided a glimpse into how BURANO and VENICE 2 are being used in major productions, offering attendees a global perspective.
“Our goal is to make sure creators can trust their tools in any environment. BURANO and VENICE 2 are built not just for image quality, but for reliability and workflow efficiency on real productions,” Takashi emphasized.
Australian cinematographer Liam Brennan, a two-time ACS Gold Tripod awardee, added his reflection saying, “You overestimate what you can achieve in one year, but underestimate what you can achieve in five.”

For Brennan, tools like the BURANO extend what filmmakers can do with lighting, movement, and emotional texture, turning limitations into creative possibilities. Sony also simulated three production-ready environments, allowing attendees to shoot real scenes with real actors and lighting setups:
Cooking Scene - showcasing the BURANO’s mobility and high-frame-rate capabilities
Beauty Scene - illustrating color accuracy
Action Scene - combining the BURANO with the VENICE 2 and RIALTO Mini for high-motion shots
For the next generation of filmmakers
With CineAlta Experience, Sony Philippines proved that the future of filmmaking will be defined not only by access to advanced technology, but by the openness to learn and adapt. The BURANO represents Sony's commitment to equipping storytellers with tools trusted by global productions.
More than the product showcase, the event serves as a roadmap toward elevating Philippine filmmaking to international standards, one hands-on experience at a time.
