The countdown begins as Ombak Festival 2025 makes its grand return to Desaru Coast, Johor, Malaysia from September 12–14, 2025. A festival that captured the hearts of thousands last year, this edition promises even more adrenaline-charged performances, gourmet indulgences, immersive art installations, and family-friendly entertainment—a true celebration of creativity, culture, and community.

Set against the backdrop of Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship year, this year’s event takes pride in blending international icons with Southeast Asia’s finest talents, creating a festival experience that is deeply rooted in regional artistry while embracing global appeal.

A Soundscape of Legends and Luminaries

Music lovers, prepare for an unparalleled three-day lineup featuring some of the biggest names in the industry. Simply Red takes center stage in a rare Southeast Asian appearance, celebrating their 40th anniversary with a soulful showcase. George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic promise funky grooves that will electrify the coast, while Joss Stone previews her much-anticipated 2025 album with rich, velvety vocals. Australian electronic duo Flight Facilities adds their signature beats to the mix in their long-awaited Malaysian debut.

But Ombak Festival is not just about the global legends—it’s about ASEAN’s brightest stars stepping into the spotlight. The festival boasts 29 regional acts, including Malaysia’s very own Joe Flizzow, SonaOne, and Ismail Izzani, Thailand’s indie sensation Phum Viphurit, Singapore’s energetic The Pinholes, Indonesia’s disco-infused Diskoria, and Cambodia’s rising star Vanthan.

The festival also welcomes a spectacular Blackout Agency takeover, bringing electrifying sets from Miss Lil, Sivanesh, Zig Zach, Ouissam, and JonnyVicious, alongside powerhouse performances by Disko Santan, Kyoto Protocol, Masia One & The Jah Jah Army, and Golden Mammoth.

Taste, Toast, and Transformative Flavors

Music and food come together as culinary artistry takes center stage with celebrated chefs and kitchens crafting spectacular dining experiences. Visitors can indulge in Sazón Tapas & Grill by Andrew Walsh, revel in the smoked perfection of Carbon KL’s Smoke & Fire, and explore the distinct heritage of Flavours of Johor, a spread that highlights Malaysian and ASEAN’s rich gastronomic legacy.

Expect thoughtfully curated pop-ups, gourmet tastings, and exceptional bites, ensuring festival-goers experience the best flavors across the region.

A Vision of Art, Play, and Imagination

Beyond music and food, Ombak Festival is a canvas for creativity, inviting visitors to participate in hands-on workshops, interactive exhibitions, and engaging activities. Pulau Pulao’s upcycling sessions encourage sustainable artistry, while Segaris Art Center’s block printing workshops highlight traditional craftsmanship in fresh, modern expressions.

Festival-goers can browse Pasar Seloka’s vibrant artisan bazaar, featuring handcrafted finds, one-of-a-kind keepsakes, and artistic treasures. For those with a playful streak, All Tiled Up’s mahjong experiences bring nostalgia and excitement, offering festival guests the chance to embrace a beloved regional pastime.
