For young creatives, a single spark can fuel a lifelong passion.

That spark is embodied in “Alab,” the theme of Shell Pilipinas Corporation’s 58th National Students Art Competition (NSAC).

This year’s theme calls on college students who burn with the desire to create, express, and reflect the ideas that define their generation—a fire fueled not just by talent, but by passion and perseverance.

Since 1951, NSAC has been a platform dedicated to nurturing young artists, offering them both space and opportunity to grow and showcase their work. For this year’s competition, NSAC proudly collaborates with Boysen Philippines, International Fine Paper Exchange Inc. (IFEX), Airspeed, and a network of museums and galleries across the country.

Boysen Philippines believes that championing sustainable creativity means supporting programs like Shell’s NSAC, initiatives that spotlight emerging creatives and demonstrate how art can positively impact society. Boysen remains committed to empowering young artists who have the potential to shape the future of the arts.

For IFEX, the competition goes beyond showcasing talent and artistic expression. It represents a gateway to new opportunities. Their mission is to connect Filipino creatives with industries that nurture innovation and artistic growth.

Meanwhile, Airspeed emphasizes the importance of innovation and connectivity, values shared with Shell and its partners. By bridging communities and individuals across regions, Airspeed aims to ensure that aspiring artists and young creatives gain access to the recognition and opportunities they deserve.

In addition to these companies, museums and galleries across the country continue to support the NSAC program. These institutions see the value in nurturing emerging talent and recognize the role such programs play in the evolving local art scene, helping young creatives learn, grow, and thrive.

Thanks to the dedication of the NSAC team and the involvement of new partners, the competition continues to flourish as a platform for celebrating creativity and artistic expression.

This enduring program proves that art has the power to unite communities and flourish wherever culture is embraced. Because when art meets opportunity, it ignites a fire within, fueling the passion, purpose, and potential of the next generation of artists.
