Using proceeds from the sale of their artworks, 30 featured artists in Journeys are joining forces to raise funds for free art workshops for underprivileged children, providing them with a creative outlet while helping steer them away from violence.

The works of National Artist nominee Luis “Junyee” Yee, foremost modern sculptor Julie Lluch, celebrated Filipino printmaker Pandy Aviado, and other established, emerging, and up-and-coming visual artists will be featured in Journeys, a fundraising exhibition organized by Erehwon Art Foundation Inc., in cooperation with Art Lounge Manila (ALM).

The exhibition opens on Aug. 19 at 6 pm at Art Lounge Manila – The Podium in Mandaluyong City and runs through Aug. 30.

Event initiator and Erehwon trustee June P. Dalisay, a well-known art conservator, believes that providing young people with positive and meaningful artistic experiences can help foster healthier psychosocial outlooks.

The exhibition presents a vibrant mix of serene, colorful, thought-provoking, unusual, and even tongue-in-cheek works. The artists employ an equally diverse range of media including acrylic, oil, assemblage, pen and ink, collage, and watercolor, as well as environmentally conscious sculpture.
