In our islands, we don’t necessarily wait for summer to feel the sun’s heat on our skin. We always feel it in the heavy air at noon, the way sunlight pools on our wooden floors, and the way we naturally reach for light, comfortable clothing.
This year, these simple realities inspired the vision of Resort by ArteFino 2026: to find your sanctuary among their different pieces. ArteFino 2026 kicks off a milestone tenth-year celebration—the first installment in a series of events marking a decade of championing Filipino designs, crafts, and communities.
The event turned the North and South Courts of Power Plant Mall in Rockwell into a showcase of contemporary design. Over four days, a carefully curated selection of brands came together, each expressing the evolving language of Filipino style. The collection revealed a deeper understanding of a community that has become increasingly discerning over the past decade.
By grounding the spirit of the resort within the city, the event invited guests to discover pieces that transitioned seamlessly from a summer vacation to one’s home.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the event remained rooted in its mission: a portion of the proceeds supported HeArteFino, the platform’s social advocacy arm dedicated to uplifting and empowering artisan communities across the Philippines. It marked a milestone that highlighted how these pieces define and express Filipino style as it exists today.
Fashion Meets Sustainability with Adante & Edited Limited
For designers Leo Bartolome and Adante Leyesa, the collaboration between Adante and Edited Limited is a purposeful act of sustainability. As Sales Head Lia explained, the heart of Edited Limited lies in the boro technique, a Japanese-inspired philosophy of mended aesthetics. Every piece was hand-sewn in Batangas, where Bartolome "edited" repurposed fabrics and vintage clothes into modern skirts and dresses that felt both intentional and alive.
This mindful approach extended to the accessory line, where Adante’s bags were constructed entirely by hand. From the initial structure to the placement of every intricate component, each piece remained a one-of-a-kind creation.
When the "pop" of Adante’s vibrant, unique design language met the textured, hand-stitched soul of Edited Limited, the result was a collection that proved sustainability isn't a limitation, but a creative force. It was a reminder that the most beautiful pieces are often built from what we choose to save and reinvent.
Zero-Waste Comfort with Oli Home
At Oli Home, the atmosphere was grounded in a deep respect for the time it takes to create something lasting. Paula, the brand’s head for the day, shared that their Hinabol fabric, a traditional weave from Bicol, requires three full days of manual labor on a traditional loom just to produce a single piece.
Because the fabric is so precious and "pinaghirapan" (hard-earned), the brand has adopted a strict zero-waste philosophy. From large, cozy blankets to the smallest patchwork coasters and flat summer pouches, every scrap of fabric was saved and repurposed so that nothing went to waste.
Exclusively for Resort by ArteFino, Oli Home traded its traditional deep Bicolano colors for lighter, "summery" tones across a range of home and lifestyle essentials. These machine-washable pieces, which remarkably get softer with every wash, are more than just useful accessories.
They are the heart of a social enterprise supporting 80 weavers in Bicol and 15 families from the Gawad Kalinga community in Bulacan. To bring an Oli Home blanket into your space is to invite three days of dedicated hard work and a promise of earth-friendly comfort into your everyday life.
Multi-Generational Craft with Casa Mercedez
The definition of a breezy escape is rooted in a 75-year-old legacy. Owner Monchet Diokno Olives is refreshingly straightforward about the brand’s soul: it is a heritage business anchored by a dedicated community of second- and third-generation craftsmen whose families have kept the art of the abaniko alive for decades.
While many associate fans with the nostalgia of a "pang-lola" accessory, Casa Mercedez continues to “innovate” to ensure the craft remains a vibrant, modern necessity.
By bridging the gap between Victorian elegance and modern wit, the brand has transformed the fan into a relevant, everyday accessory. For the Resort by ArteFino edit, the focus shifted to the "Flora and Fauna" collection, featuring lush palmeras and island motifs designed for a "chill" resort vibe.
Whether it is their traditional Spanish-style hand-painted fans, which are their bread and butter, or their bold, contemporary pieces, every item carries the rhythmic, nostalgic flutter of wind built by master craftsmen. It is the story of a heritage brand that doesn't just preserve the past but carries it forward and reminds us of home.
Wearing Your Story with Peewee Benitez’s Jewelry
In the hands of Peewee Benitez, jewelry feels like carrying a lucky charm. His pieces, crafted in Bicol using sturdy silver dipped in 18K gold, act as a sensory map of the islands. He was inspired by the idea that every person carries a unique narrative or emotion that can be shared through accessories. By mixing shiny crystals with nature-inspired motifs, like ocean spines and turtles, his collection offers a way to make those stories visible.
The heart of the collection is the stackable bangles, which Peewee recommends as the ultimate everyday essential. Because they come in a variety of colors and designs, they allow for a constant mix-and-match that manifests the wearer’s current mood.
"You wear your story," Peewee encourages, remaining intentional with every piece he makes so that each one truly belongs to the person who wears it. These pieces are small, golden anchors, simple in form but high in impact, keeping the soul connected to the sea and the shifting moods of summer, even in the middle of a busy city.
Finding Your Sanctuary for Everyday Summer
All the brands showcased during the event share a common goal: for everyone to find a piece that represents their personal style while providing comfort in their everyday reality.
ArteFino 2026 sought to bring that cozy, resort feeling home so that no one feels like they necessarily need to book a flight just to find a sense of escape. You can find that same comfort within your own walls.
Amid the mundane demands of daily life, we don’t just dress for a season–we dress for our souls, to express ourselves, and to find our own sanctuary. These are pieces you bring with you on vacation and then carry back home.
They bridge that gap, ensuring that even when you are traveling, you feel the comfort of home, and even when you are home, you are comforted by the feeling of being on a permanent vacation.
