The Tony Award-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen is set to comfort audiences in the Philippines as it arrives in Manila this September. The production brings a heartfelt story of truth, connection, and self-acceptance amidst the darkness of isolation.
“The story, music, and message of Dear Evan Hansen resonate deeply with so many people, and we can't wait for Filipino fans to experience it live,” said GMG Productions CEO Carlos Candal.
Dear Evan Hansen tells the story of Evan, an anxious high school student searching for a sense of belonging. When a misunderstanding spirals into something far bigger than he could have imagined, Evan faces an impossible choice: tell the truth and lose everything, or embrace a lie that brings him closer to the life he’s always dreamed of.
As the story unfolds, Evan navigates the complexities of truth, connection, and self-acceptance in a world that often feels isolating.
Featuring a book by Steven Levenson and music by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, Dear Evan Hansen debuted on Broadway in 2016, captivating audiences with its powerful message and universal themes.
The musical has won four Tony Awards, including Best Musical, the Olivier Award for Best New Musical, and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album.
“Dear Evan Hansen has thrilled audiences on both sides of the Atlantic since it first premiered in 2016. Evan's powerful story, told through a captivating script and musical score, continues to move people,” said Director Adam Penford.
Dear Evan Hansen will run in September 2025 at The Theatre at Solaire, presented by GMG Productions.
