Italian dishes have always been one of the many comfort foods of most Filipinos. From pastas to pizzas, it’s an easy go to option for a good meal. One of the more prominent and authentic restaurants that have become a beloved option recently celebrated its 27th year in the business.

From its humble beginnings in 1997 as a venture founded by Chef Margarita “Gaita” Forés, CIBO has grown well into its title as the OG of exceptional Italian dining in the Philippines. Now with multiple branches all over the country, CIBO continues to set the standard for Italian cuisine, bringing a slice of Italy to every table.

In a message, Fores shared, “It makes me super emotional, twenty seven years is a long time. When I started Cibo I didn’t really know what I was doing, I really just wanted to cook for you guys and share whatever I learned from Italy with the Philippines. Who would have thought that we would have been able to grow this much in 27 years.”

The secret to keeping their doors open? CIBO continued to grow with their patrons. Their commitment to quality food speaks to the passion and dedication that first put CIBO on the map. And it’s not just the food that’s stayed consistent—many loyal customers and dedicated staff have been integral to their growth and success, creating a community of people who appreciate authenticity and excellence in all things food.

CIBO kicked off their anniversary festivities with a big bang, celebrating at their newly-opened branch at The Podium in Mandaluyong. The eye-catchy, strikingly orange interiors have a really fun and modern atmosphere. The grand opening also featured special stories of the 27-year journey of CIBO and key team members who have started and grown with the restaurant. A portion of the restaurant was converted into a mini gallery that showcases some of the memorabilia of the restaurant accumulated through the years. One of the best moments of the party was the introduction of the Rigatoni Bolognese Cake, a savory pasta concoction formed and sliced as a celebration cake for birthdays.

An exciting treat, the CIBO 27 List holds special prizes for diners from August 1 to September 30, 2024. Diners can collect stamps by completing any of the tasks on the CIBO 27 List stamp card, in exchange for an exciting array of prizes like the CIBO x Linya-Linya Tote Bag and T-shirt, the exclusive CIBO x Hydro Flask bottle, or a lifetime’s worth of CIBO. Linya-Linya, known for their relatable Filipino-themed merchandise, provided the witty designs for the charming CIBO t-shirts and tote bags. Hydro Flask, a cult favorite brand for reusable water bottles, contributed the stylish yet practical flask that features a warm and endearing design celebrating CIBO.

With 27 years of CIBO Love served on every plate, CIBO looks forward to more years of sharing their passion for food with you.
