Over dinner between two friends and colleagues in the fashion industry, the idea of sharing a pop-up space surfaced. That simple conversation led Ivarluski Aseron and Jo Ann Bitagcol to bring their distinct creative visions under one roof, in Power Plant Mall, Rockwell.
Their aesthetics differ, yet Aseron and Bitagcol found common ground in their shared leanings toward contemporary design and their vision for a gallery-like space that would highlight each of their creations and the craftsmanship behind them.
“We were intentional about presenting a space that was honest, authentic, simple, yet contemporary,” Ivarluski and Bitagcol shared.
On December 1, the designers officially launched their pop-up collaboration. The refined space radiates precision, elegance, and artistry, setting the tone for an intimate experience.
Upon entering the pop-up, guests are greeted with an arsenal of fitting forms and mannequins that underline the meticulous workmanship and skill that go into every piece. The reception, designed to be cozy and inviting, offers a clear view of the wares on display. And lining both sides of the space are shelves and racks that house Ivarluski’s collection of unisex separates and Bitagcol’s updated classics.
A new spin on the classic
This season, Bitagcol refreshes her classic pieces by introducing a new edition of prints. Her iconic boxy tops are reinterpreted as kamisa de chinos that feature her signature barong print.
Meanwhile, a recent addition to Bitagcol’s design portfolio, the sporty kimono, is upgraded using fine handwoven pińa and carefully crafted hand-beaded details.
Beyond the classics are Bitagcol’s pieces that burst with color, pattern, and print, ranging from oversized scarves and skirts to pants and tops.
Her lace dresses, crafted as modern alternatives to formal wear, showcase her Terno Terno prints. The detachable terno sleeves with pleated accents, first launched at this year’s Ternocon, also offer an innovative twist on the country’s national dress.
Perfect fit
Ivarluski adorns the pop-up with his collection of separates for both men and women. White shirts are reimagined with jigsaw-shaped details, adding a contemporary charm to the classic.
“I first introduced the puzzle piece detail when I presented my collection for the Red Charity Gala in 2023. Puzzles were a childhood pastime of mine,” Ivarluski explained.
He further added: “They also symbolize autism, which is very relevant for me since I have a nephew who is on the spectrum.”
In contrast to Bitagcol’s playful use of color, Ivarluski’s designs lean towards a muted palette of grays, whites, and subtle hints of black, offering a visual balance. His unisex tops effortlessly mix and match with his wide selection of skirts, while his layering of checkered tulle over pleats adds a sense of texture and geometry.
Ivarluski and Bitagcol’s shared space showcases pieces that embody wearability, functionality, and versatility. More than just a store, the pop-up is a natural home of impeccable design, a testament to a clear vision for contemporary design, and a celebration of exceptional artistry.
Catch Ivarluski and Bitagcol’s pop-up collaboration at R2 Power Plant Mall, Rockwell Center, Makati, from December 2025 to February 2026.
