Heart Evangelist and Genteel Home’s Katrina Blanca de Leon

It was 2013 when Katrina Blanca de Leon received her very first commission to design and create a piece of furniture. Eventually, this blossomed into Kat’s steadfast passion for the art form, leading her to establish the Pampanga-based bespoke furniture brand, Genteel Home. A decade later, the company has expanded its clientele to the metro with its first branch in SM Podium Mall. But this was just the beginning.

The founder and principal designer of Genteel Home has been seeking to uplift Filipino craftsmanship on both the national and world stages. And who better to be the face of this endeavor than an internationally-revered Filipina style icon like Heart Evangelista?

The partnership, given Heart’s well-documented affinity for beauty, whether in interior design, fashion, or art, seems like the ideal fit for the brand’s aspirations for the industry at large.

To better understand these women’s perspectives on modern living, as well as what makes this partnership fitting, here are three things you should keep in mind when bringing your dream home to life—straight from Heart and Kat themselves!

  1. Don’t be afraid to show your true colors

For Heart, picking out forever pieces for your home is akin to styling yourself. Only you know yourself well enough to dress in a way that best expresses your personality. For a space that is wholly yours and serves as your sanctuary, it is fitting to design your space to reflect you, quirks and all.

  2. Don’t rush into purchasing pieces

At first glance, every fixture included in Genteel Home’s catalog of furniture has the potential to serve as a conversation piece in your home. But before you start imagining the possibilities, it’s important to pace yourself before finally landing on the right pieces for you.

  3. Intention is key

Beyond their premier bespoke designs, what sets Genteel Home apart as a furniture atelier is how their pieces are built to last. The brand ensures consumers minimize wastage by owning furniture that will grow with them. Genteel Home also maintains its own mahogany farm from which it sources its wood while replanting new ones.

You can find Genteel Home’s studio at 124 Fil-Am Friendship Hwy, Angeles, Pampanga. Their furniture atelier is located on the 3rd floor of SM Podium Mall, 12 ADB Ave, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City.
