Seamed designs, classic textures, and a story stitched in every step. What is more powerful than a collection crafted with shared passion and values?

Andanté releases their latest collection in collaboration with ANTHILL Fabrics and their partner community, Hablon ni Laurania, based in Argao, Cebu–home of the traditional handloom weaving, nurtured, and elevated into sustainable and contemporary designs.

The collection features three vibrant pairs of step-in mules, each with matching vanity pouches in limited quantities.

“We rarely release statement colors or fun colors, so this was a good experiment for us to finally see if we can actually release shoes in very candy colors,” Bea Campomanes said, co-owner and co-founder of Andanté.

Behind the bright colors is a brand deeply rooted in craftsmanship. Known for its classic designs and neutral, earthy tones, the brand has always aimed for timeless fashion. This collection turns to a fresh new route.

Each pair was handcrafted using textile fabric woven by women artisans in Cebu, created from soft leather insoles for breathable and comfortable wear, all handmade through fair trade with trusted local partners.

“We also had the acceptance that sometimes, handmade goods are not exactly how you would imagine them to be. But I feel like, nung nakita namin yung actual na nagawa ng mga weavers, we fell in love with it and just went with it, even though hindi ‘yun ‘yung exact colorway na nilagay namin sa photoshop,” Larica Lim, co-owner and co-founder of Andanté, said.

The pairs were named after real-life objects–Blue Lemonade for the blue and yellow striped pair, Sangria for the red checkered pair, and Tutti Frutti for the multiple colored striped pair.

At the core of the collaboration are the three women behind Andanté, friends turned founders, bound by a shared love for art and craft. Andanté is a Marikina-made footwear brand established in 2018 by three friends, Campomanes, Lim, and Audrey Parreño, who spent their college and working years together.

“I think ‘yung brand is almost like a passion project,” Lim said. “Parang combination siya ng minds namin, translated into wearable objects.”

They admit that starting this collaboration was their biggest challenge, uncertain if their audience will embrace the collection compared to past designs. However, to their surprise, stocks exclusively available in the ANTHILL Fabric Gallery store in Power Plant Mall, Rockwell, until October 31, 2025, are running out fast.

Andanté has opened pre-orders on their website, hoping to ship orders by the end of November. They also plan to restock and release the collection in their store at One Ayala Mall and on their website, priced at P3,590 for the step-in mules and P1,090 for the vanity pouches.

“Hopefully for this collaboration, we are trying to open up the idea of the weaves to a younger market and let them know na you can wear it in a very cool and fresh way,” Campomanes said.

Like any other collection Andanté has released, its mission is to uplift local artisans and the traditional art community by collaborating with them in their craft. Each pair is not just footwear–it represents creativity, collaboration, and culture, stitched in every step.
