In celebration of World Ocean Day on June 8, Art Lounge Manila (ALM) invites the public to Ebb & Flow, a collaborative cultural and environmental initiative presented in partnership with Hoseki, Fundacion Sansó, and Pure Culture. This eight-day exhibition shines a light on the beauty, resilience, and essential role of the world’s oceans, encouraging collective action toward sustainability. After all, caring for our oceans is caring for ourselves.

Ebb & Flow explores the powerful, ever-changing relationship between the ocean and its surrounding environment—capturing both the grace of natural rhythms and the pressing challenges brought by human activity. The multi-venue exhibition features diverse artistic expressions reflecting the tides, marine migrations, ecosystems, and the growing threats of pollution and climate change.

Through the lens of visual art, fine jewelry, skincare, and educational discourse, the event aims to raise awareness and inspire eco-conscious lifestyles that respect the delicate balance of marine ecosystems. Collaborators include:

Art Lounge Manila (ALM): A gallery and event space dedicated to contemporary cultural expression.

Hoseki: A fine jewelry brand showcasing the elegance of South Sea Pearls and ocean-inspired design.

Fundacion Sansó: A museum and foundation that preserves and promotes Filipino art and heritage.

Pure Culture: A skincare brand advocating for natural, holistic wellness.

At its heart, “Ebb & Flow” addresses three core themes: the natural cycles of the ocean and marine life, disruptions caused by human impact, and the resilience and adaptability of the ocean’s ecosystems. The event aims to promote understanding, encourage sustainable practices, and emphasize the vital connection between ocean health and global well-being.

The exhibition will be held at two Art Lounge Manila venues: ALM The Podium from June 5–15, and ALM Molito, Alabang from June 12–15.

Each opening day will feature special messages from the participating organizations, including Art Lounge Manila, Hoseki, Fundacion Sansó, and Pure Culture. Attendees can explore a curated display of jewelry by Hoseki, inspired by the sea’s treasures, alongside marine life themed artworks from ALM’s roster of artists. Each venue will offer a unique selection of pieces, encouraging visitors to experience both spaces.

Fundacion Sansó will contribute special giclée prints of seascapes by the late master artist Juvenal Sansó. Meanwhile, Pure Culture will showcase sustainable beauty rooted in nature.

In support of ocean conservation, a portion of all sales will benefit Save Philippine Seas (SPS), a non-profit organization committed to empowering “seatizens” through community engagement and behavior change for marine protection.

Take part in celebrating the life-sustaining force of the ocean. Let’s ride the wave toward a sustainable future.
