True beauty often emerges from profound, sometimes unexpected, change. Embodying this powerful philosophical approach to design, the distinguished Philippine furniture atelier Genteelhome has proudly unveiled its latest masterful artisan creation—the Burnt Collection.

Serving as the inaugural release under their highly anticipated Sibol series, this striking new chapter in the brand's history is deeply inspired by themes of organic growth, unwavering resilience, and bold new beginnings.

The art of transformation

Crafted from uniquely processed wood, the Burnt Collection draws heavily on the deeply resonant idea of metamorphosis, brilliantly illustrating how striking, enduring beauty can emerge through intentional change. Each carefully crafted piece in this collection goes far beyond mere form and function.

Instead, the collection physically embodies growth shaped by challenge, expressed through highly refined and purposeful design elements. From statement mirrors and striking accent chairs to solid tables and elegant dining chairs, every item is designed to bring character and personality into the modern home.

“This collection is deeply meaningful for Genteelhome,” shares Founder and Creative Principal Katrina Blanca De Leon. “It represents our resilience and our willingness to move beyond the familiar. The Burnt Collection is our way of rising above challenges and embracing a new chapter.”

Celebrating female resilience

Adding profound layers of emotional and cultural meaning to the launch, Genteelhome deliberately aligned the collection's debut with Women’s Month. The atelier hosted an exclusive, highly curated preview event at Hapag, located within the luxurious Balmori Suites in Rockwell.

The sophisticated gathering paid an elegant tribute to the enduring strength and perseverance of women, bringing together a curated circle of remarkable female leaders who have overcome their own challenges and broken significant barriers in their respective fields.

The distinguished guest list was a testament to empowered Filipina leadership. It included Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Cristina Roque, who attended in staunch support of local furniture makers, alongside Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) President Kaye Tinga, GMA Network SVP and GMA Pictures President Annette Gozon-Valdez, and Bilyonaryo News Channel host Atty. Karen Jimeno.

They were joined by esteemed creatives and entrepreneurs such as fashion designer Patty Ang, Plains & Prints CEO Roxanne Farillas, Riqueza Fine Jewellery founder Erica Concepcion-Reyes, and former Miss World 2nd Princess and celebrity Ruffa Gutierrez.

These women perfectly exemplify the spirit of the collection. “History has shown that women have long fought to be where we are today,” notes De Leon, who personally introduced the collection at the event. “Despite expectations and limitations, we continue to rise, make an impact, and emerge stronger.”

A bold vision for the future

Following the exclusive Women's Month preview, the Burnt Collection was officially launched to the public last  April 15 at the Genteelhome Atelier in The Podium. This meticulously curated release expertly sets the tone for the bespoke atelier's grand vision for the year, which is anchored entirely by the word Sibol—a powerful Filipino term meaning ‘to emerge’ or ‘to rise.’

The brand is deeply committed to collaborating with highly skilled local artisans, consistently showcasing world-class Filipino craftsmanship that has earned well-deserved recognition at both local and international expos.

Looking ahead, this is just the beginning of a vibrant new era. “This is one of the many collections we hope to release this year, each highlighting a diverse range of materiality for the Philippine market," De Leon shared during the momentous launch.
