As Galerie Joaquin marks its 26th year, it celebrates its journey with gratitude and a steadfast commitment to Philippine art and the artists who have shaped its history. Over the years, the gallery has had the privilege of working with some of the country’s most influential modernist masters, including National Artists Federico Aguilar Alcuaz, Abdulmari Imao, and Arturo Luz, as well as distinguished artists such as Presidential Medal of Merit awardee Juvenal Sansó and masters Angelito Antonio, Eduardo Castrillo, Justin Nuyda, and Mario Parial.
In partnership with Art Lounge Manila, Galerie Joaquin presents Maestros Modernos and Futuros Maestros, an exhibition that pays tribute to the remarkable legacy of some of the most distinguished names in Philippine art. Bringing together an exceptional collection of works by artists whose careers have helped define artistic excellence across generations, the exhibition celebrates mastery, innovation, and the lasting impact of their creative vision.
Joining this distinguished roster are Presidential Medal of Merit awardee Ramon Orlina and celebrated masters Norma Belleza, Michael Cacnio, Lito Carating, Raul Isidro, Carlo Magno, Kublai Millan, Lydia Velasco, and Edwin Wilwayco.
The exhibition offers a rare opportunity to experience works by artists whose contributions have helped shape the course of Philippine art history. Through a rich diversity of styles, subjects, and mediums, Maestros Modernos reflects the breadth of Filipino artistic expression while highlighting each artist’s distinctive perspective and commitment to the craft.
From lyrical landscapes and expressive figurative works to striking abstractions and masterful sculpture, the exhibition demonstrates the artistic achievements represented by this distinguished roster. Each work bears witness to years of dedication, technical excellence, and a profound understanding of an aesthetic language that continues to impact audiences today.

While Maestros Modernos honors the achievements of established icons, the exhibition also turns its attention toward a new generation of artists whose dedication, unique voices, and evolving practices position them among the future masters of Philippine art.
Futuros Maestros showcases the works of Will Alvarez, Richard Arimado, Naomi Banal, Jo Balbarona, Jef Cablog, Katrina Cuenca, Bullet Dematera, Patrick Esmao, James Gabito, Binong Javier, Aileen Lanuza, Nap Limaten, Christian Mirang, Almer Moneda, Francis Nacion, Jerry Morada, Roel Obemio, Oliver Ojeda, Marge Organo, Glenn Perez, Jay Ragma, Kankan Ramos, Jinggoy Salcedo, Ycoy Sitchon, CJ Tañedo, Joemike Tejido, JP Tiangco, Migs Villanueva, and Meneline Wong MD.
Their inclusion reflects Galerie Joaquin’s commitment to nurturing artistic excellence and fostering a meaningful dialogue between celebrated pioneers and emerging talents. By presenting their works alongside those of the country’s most revered artists, the exhibition highlights the continuity of artistic tradition while embracing the fresh perspectives, experimentation, and innovation that will help shape the future of Philippine art.
