If fashion is a language, then Sinulid 2025 spoke in the dialect of dreams, weaving surrealist fantasies into the very fabric of its latest runway spectacle. The annual showcase of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde’s graduating Fashion Design and Merchandising (FDM) students proved nothing short of mesmerizing, celebrating artistry at its most daring and evocative. Aptly titled Threaded Experience, this year’s iteration was a bold homage to individuality, transformation, and the boundless dimensions of the subconscious.
With thirty-four emerging designers stepping into the limelight, Sinulid 2025 immersed audiences in a tapestry of narratives where femininity, fluidity, and the otherworldly coalesced in sustainable debut collections. The runway became a playground of contrasts—soft and strong, delicate and defiant—each look a poetic interplay of textures and silhouettes that challenged conventions while embracing innovation.
Femininity, in all its multifaceted splendor, took center stage. The collections explored the spectrum of womanhood, from the nurturing to the unapologetically fierce. Every ensemble told a story—some whispered in gossamer threads, others roared in sculptural mastery—celebrating not only the aesthetic but also the emotional depth behind each meticulously crafted garment.
Beyond gender, fluidity reigned supreme. Boundaries blurred as non-traditional and non-binary silhouettes defied societal constraints. This was fashion unshackled—an exploration of identity unrestricted by norms or expectations. Here, style innovators embraced the courage of self-expression, using fabric as a medium for breaking free from competition, perfectionism, and materialism.
The ethereal and the absurd met in breathtaking compositions that channeled the surreal. The subconscious took form through chimerical creations that danced between the tangible and the imagined. Garments became vessels of storytelling, transporting audiences to realms both dreamlike and eerie, where each design pulsed with a narrative.
With over a hundred looks gracing the runway at the 12th floor of the Benilde Design + Arts Campus last January 25, Sinulid 2025 was a spectacle of thought-provoking grandeur. The magic does not end there—come February 4, a curated selection of over thirty standout pieces will find a new home at an exhibition in collaboration with the Benilde Center for Campus Art (CCA). Running until May 24, this showcase extends the conversation, inviting audiences to engage with fashion as more than just attire, but as a living, breathing art form.
For those who missed the runway’s moment of transcendence, this is your chance to immerse yourself in the future of fashion—where identity is fluid, dreams are tangible, and every stitch tells a story. Stay updated at facebook.com/Sinulid.Benilde, because this is a movement you won’t want to miss.
