Motherhood comes with plenty of firsts, including learning how to care for a newborn’s delicate skin. Through its latest formulation and an interactive learning experience, Johnson’s Baby is helping moms understand the science behind gentle care.
From feeding schedules to bath time, becoming a mom means making countless decisions, often without knowing if you’re getting everything right. Skincare is no exception. While family bar soap may seem like a convenient choice, newborns’ skin loses moisture faster than adult skin, making it more prone to dryness and irritation.
For first-time moms like Johnson’s Baby Mombassadors Lottie Bie and Samantha Bernardo, understanding these needs has been part of the learning curve. Their experience highlights why choosing products specifically formulated for babies matters.
“I didn’t realize before how quickly newborn skin can lose moisture. I always thought that a newborn’s skin was naturally healthy as is and didn’t need any additional care. That’s why I hardly used products on my baby before,” said Lottie.
“I have always been used to preparing for different things in my career, but motherhood is definitely one experience you can’t really prepare for,” said Samantha. “There are always new things to learn, and knowing why a baby’s skin needs extra attention helps me make better choices.”
The science behind gentle care
At Johnson’s Baby HaploScience: Proving the Power of Gentle Care, held on October 9 at LEAP Studios in Makati City, moms and content creators explored newborn skincare through interactive experiments, hands-on activities, and research presentations.

The brand’s first-ever creator and affiliate event brought the science of baby care closer to parents, highlighting the importance of gentle cleansing, product safety, and lasting hydration.
“The biggest misconception is that a baby’s skin is the same as an adult’s skin and that babies can use the same products,” said Neha Sahatpure, Research & Development Scientist at Kenvue.
Doctors and nurses also shared practical baby-care tips, debunked common skincare misconceptions, and answered questions about building a gentle routine that includes cleansing, moisturizing, and massage.
The event also introduced the new formulation of Johnson’s Baby Milk+Rice Bath & Lotion regimen, which provides 72-hour hydration. The updated formula contains milk proteins, rice extracts, and Vitamin B5, now enriched with aloe vera.
More opportunities for moms
Johnson’s Baby is extending its support beyond baby care with the launch of its Johnson’s Mompreneur Program, a community where mothers can learn new skills, connect with fellow moms, and explore additional income opportunities.

Through content creation workshops, training sessions, and affiliate opportunities, the program aims to help moms build their skills while balancing the demands of family life.
“The Johnson’s Mompreneur community gives moms access not only to baby-care tips, but also to useful skills that can help them create content and earn through social commerce platforms. We have connected mothers with resources, such as training sessions and workshops, to help them grow their content creation skills,” said Samantha Onglatco, Brand Manager for Baby Care at Kenvue Philippines.
Motherhood comes with plenty of questions, but moms don’t have to figure everything out alone. With a better understanding of newborn skincare, products formulated for delicate skin, and a community they can turn to, they can approach everyday care with greater confidence.
