Living spaces are shrinking and the demand for efficient, sustainable design is at an all-time high, which is why the need for space-saving furniture has taken center stage. Enter Brian Hontiveros, the visionary behind Modularity Home, a company that’s bringing the best of Italian craftsmanship to the Philippines. With a decade of experience under his belt, Hontiveros is helping Filipinos redefine how they live by offering modular cabinetry and living systems that enhance both form and function.

Founded in 2010 by Brian and his wife, Modularity Home began as a distributor of high-end Italian kitchen furniture. Starting with Scavolini, Italy’s leading kitchen manufacturer, they quickly realized the potential for modular design in Filipino households. “The kitchen is the heart of every home,” Hontiveros explains. “We wanted to create spaces where families could come together in a functional yet beautiful environment.” Scavolini’s success paved the way for other Italian brands to join their portfolio, including Valcucine, known for its innovative, sustainable kitchen designs; Pianca, an industry leader in wardrobes and entertainment systems; and FontanaArte, a producer of stunning glass lighting.

But modularity doesn’t stop at kitchens. The beauty of modular furniture lies in their flexibility—whether it’s a sleek entertainment system, a well-planned wardrobe, or a cozy bedroom, these systems can be tailored to fit any space. “We realized that modular living isn’t just about convenience; it’s about creating synergy within the home,” Hontiveros adds. “From the living room to the bathroom, modular designs adapt to the lifestyle of our clients.”

Hontiveros is especially proud of the partnerships he’s forged with these Italian brands, ensuring that Filipino homes can access the best of global design. “We work closely with architects and designers to create bespoke living solutions for our clients,” he says. “It’s not just about selling products—it’s about building relationships and delivering an experience.”

CELEBRATING ART AND INNOVATION

Valcucine Manila | Modularity Home collaborated with National Artist BenCab on a special project that integrates his “Triptych on Sabel 1” with their Logica Celata Bar. The collaboration with BenCab elevates the Logical Celata into a unique fusion of art and functionality. This sophisticated home bar reveals an organized set-up equipped for wine tasting and crafting the perfect cocktail or espresso. It is a rare opportunity for Modularity Home clients to own a part of BenCab’s artistic legacy as only three pieces will be available worldwide and will never be reproduced again.

“Collaborating with artists has always been a dream of mine, especially with a brand like Valcucine that can truly execute these ideas. A friend introduced me to Tito Ben. I saw a golden opportunity. We suggested featuring his artwork on the Logica Celata, and we’re honored that he accepted,” said Hontiveros. “Triptych on Sabel 1” is one of Ben-Cab’s existing paintings from his Sabel series. BenCab was deeply involved and helped to pick the right piece for the Logica Celata. There was a lot of back-and-forth between BenCab, Modularity Home, and Valcucine to ensure that the artwork is presented in the best way.

The artisans at Vitrum Arte lab expertly integrated the painting into the Logica Celata through a masterful technique that involves applying film to glass by hand, using the inlay method to create distinct and stunning designs. BenCab was pleased with the results and came to support the launch of BenCab x Logica Celata.

As modular living continues to rise in popularity, Hontiveros is excited about the future. “The dynamics of how we live are changing,” he reflects. “More people are looking for customizable, space-saving solutions without compromising on luxury. Modular homes provide exactly that—beautiful, efficient spaces that evolve with your needs.” With Modularity Home leading the way, Hontiveros is helping Filipinos navigate this new frontier in home design, ensuring that their living spaces are as dynamic and adaptable as the people who live in them.
