Pramuhendra’s latest exhibition,Women in the Modern World, continues his exploration of identity but with a shift towards portraying women as the central subjects, reflecting on empowerment and the evolving roles of women in contemporary society.

“While I used to tell more personal stories through self-portraits, this exhibition broadens the subject matter beyond personal narratives,” Pramuhendra notes. “The shift towards portraying women allows for a more expansive exploration of identity on a societal scale.”

Central to the exhibition is the theme of female empowerment, inspired by Pramuhendra’s own mother and mothers worldwide. When asked about its potential impact on various groups of women, Pramuhendra says, “The series aims to resonate with the diverse struggles faced by women today.” Women in the Modern World seeks to show the various roles and strengths of women, both in society and the art community.
