Fairytales transport us to a magical world, a place we once dreamed of as children. These stories come to life through the art of storytelling, whether through spoken word or dance. Ultimately, what matters most is how the message rings true with its audience.

This holiday season, Ballet Philippines will reimagine the beloved story of Peter Pan, blending elegant classical ballet movements with a heartfelt narrative. The result is a production that promises to captivate the heart and spark the imagination.

A Glimpse into a Magical World

In an exclusive media preview, Ballet Philippines offered a sneak peek into the enchanting world of Peter Pan. The event combined short storytelling segments with intimate ballet performances, creating a cozy, nostalgic atmosphere that transported the audience back to their own childhood memories.

During the preview, the ballet dancers performed two captivating scenes. The first featured Wendy’s room, where she shares a tender moment with her brothers, John and Michael. The second was a graceful pas de deux between Peter Pan and Wendy, embodying the magic and wonder of their shared adventure.

With its reimagined vision, the elegance of ballet, and the timeless charm of Peter Pan, this production promises to be nothing short of magical.

A Delightful Escape

Artistic Director Mikhail “Misha” Martynyuk shared that this version of Peter Pan is a family-friendly performance designed to offer a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

“Our dancers are fully immersed in this ballet, and I believe the audience, too, will feel a sense of childhood wonder as they reconnect with their favorite characters,” Martynyuk said.

The production offers a unique chance to rediscover the magic of the story and experience its enchanting world through the artistry of ballet.

A Beautiful Christmas Gift

During the preview, Ballet Philippines emphasized that this reimagined Peter Pan is distinct from the Disney version. Through the medium of dance, the production seeks to capture the warmth of Christmas, the love of family, and the joy of storytelling. It also aims to inspire children to explore the world of ballet.

This holiday season, Peter Pan offers more than just a festive performance—it sparks meaningful conversations, showcases the beauty of ballet, and reminds us of the true spirit of Christmas.

Ballet Philippines’ Peter Pan will be staged from December 6 to 8 at The Theatre at Solaire.
