Clarity, memory, and presence—these themes take shape in Marge Organo’s A Look into the Prism, a celebration of both art through the form of glass, her latest creations, and in the form of paper, an anthology of her artistic trajectory.
Serving as a testament to Organo’s continued pursuit of mastering one of the most demanding materials in contemporary art, the exhibit offers visitors an intimate glimpse into the evolution of her visual language and the emotional landscapes that emerge through her works.
Glass, as a medium, allows for a multiplicity of perspectives—how light bends and refracts, how transparency can both reveal and conceal, and how color shifts with the viewer’s slightest movement. Organo’s sculptures embody these qualities.
Occupying the liminal space between fragility and permanence, her pieces reflect how she negotiates the contrasts: weight and air, translucency and solidity.
Beyond the walls, into the glass
This exhibition marks Organo’s shift from her classical and figurative approach, representing a bold turn into the sphere of contemporary art. Her new series, “Balloon Dog sculptures,” inspired by the pop-inflected figures of American artist Jeff Koons, reimagines these playful, iconic works into glass.
Carrying a sense of risk and reinvention, Organo’s latest series demonstrates not only technical mastery but also openness for experimentation, visual humor, and cultural commentary.
Further affirming Organo’s departure from the familiar is another series molded by the Marian imagery. Rather than replicating the devotional iconography, Organo reframes it into something quietly radiant, imbued with themes of serenity, compassion, and spiritual luminosity, through a singular use of glass.
Together, these two new bodies of work serve as the living counterpart of her meaningful expansion, displaying both continuity and transformation.
The shape of becoming
The exhibition is accompanied by a publication that deepens the understanding of Organo’s embrace of the new. By compiling her earliest explorations with her most recent masterpieces, it shows how each period of Organo’s career contributes to a larger inquiry into inner life.
Her early works reveal her search for balance in form, while her latest pieces exhibit a confident boldness toward sculpture rooted in years of mastered technique.
A Look into the Prism is a showcase of works that resonate beyond their physical form, inviting guests to see the reflections of the emotional landscapes they attempt to articulate. Through risk-taking, clarity, refraction, and exceptional artistry, Organo teaches viewers to see beyond the surface and into the luminous worlds that lie within her works.
Marge Organo’s A Look into the Prism will be available for viewing from November 23 to December 5, with an Artist Reception on December 4, 2025, at 5 PM, located at Galerie Joaquin Rockwell, R3 Level of Power Plant Mall, Rockwell Center, Makati.
