adobo Magazine has inaugurated the adobo Creative Awards, a prestigious ceremony honoring creativity and marketing excellence in Asia on August 17 as they celebrate the publication's 20th founding anniversary.

In a media launch via their social media pages, the commencing of the awards show will cater solely to Asian countries’ most compelling ideas as it celebrates creative excellence and effectiveness in all its diversity, which will take place on January 29, 2027 at Makati City.

Editor-in-Chief, founder, and president of adobo Magazine Angel Guerrero said the reveal was the culmination of their 20-year journey as they recognize Asia’s outstanding work while reflecting on where the industry is heading toward in the future.

“We feel [that] it’s time to build something,” Guerrero described. “Apart from recognizing great work, [this] also reflects where [the] industry is headed.

“But that’s no longer how modern creativity works. The most powerful ideas don’t just capture attention, they solve real problems, move culture, change behavior, and also create business value. That is the foundation of the adobo Creative Awards,” she added.

The adobo management believes that creativity and effectiveness are fundamentally inseparable, requiring meaningful ingenuity to prove that each piece of work is effective. By bridging these elements into one single core, adobo Magazine will establish a rigorous and contemporary standard for recognition.

This will evaluate original ideas, not only in isolation, but guiding through its complete context, quality of thinking, execution excellence, and the impact it creates—a belief that Guerrero, the jurors, and the adobo Creative Awards team considers directly as the foundation of judging.

Jurors of the acclaimed ceremony will feature diverse selections of respected creative leaders, marketers, strategists, designers, media professionals, and industry experts across Asia, evaluating with rigor, integrity, and understanding of their crafts in accordance to the market and cultural contexts the pieces were created.

Entries are welcomed from all regions of the continent. Submitted works must have been launched or officially implemented between January 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026.

Awards director and Philippine 4As Creative Guild inductee Joe Dy illustrated that originality, virtue, insights, and the results are valued most, setting a benchmark from “both ends of the spectrum” to the jurors’ evaluation of submitted pieces

“Because at the adobo creative awards, creative and effectiveness will not be competing metrics; they are gonna be evaluated together so our jurors will be asked to think “hey, did this work actually delivered results or were these results delivered by execution that was really something gonna stood out?” Dy said.

“We want to recognize the ideas that have already made their mark—works that [have] entered the real world, demonstrated its impact, and reflected the evolving standard of creative and marketing excellence across Asia,” he added.

To recognize the full spectrum of creative and marketing excellence, the adobo team built seven categories, creating a holistic view of modern creativity across channels, disciplines, technologies, and culture including: Excellence in Classic, Craft, Digital & Social, Design, Experience Marketing, Effectiveness & Strategy, and Purpose & Impact.

Together with Filipino-British graphics designer Melvin Galapon, the trophies for this ceremony were heavily inspired from the concept of growth, rising upwards in representation for the journey of an idea, containing an honor for grand prize, gold, silver, and bronze categories.

All applicants must adhere to proper eligibility criteria including advertising, brands/corporation, media, design agencies, production, platforms/networks, organizations, independent creatives, content creators, and filmmakers.

The submission of entries will start with an entry fee of $165 from August 1 to October 25, 2026.
