Wanna spend your Christmas season feeling inspired and artsy? Visit the Modern and Contemporary Art Festival (MoCAF) special holiday edition and look out for 12 new things they’ve prepared.
Holiday Theme
Make It, “MoCAF: The Christmas Edit!” is the first-ever December version of MoCAF, encompassing a festive, creative, and intimate daily-life vibe. It spotlights 11 participating galleries and 9 partner artisans, along with 5 special exhibits.
New Place, New Schedule
Leaving the usual cradle of MoCAF at the Marquis Events Place, this special 12-day edition found its home at the grounds of Opus Mall. From December 3 until December 14, the festival is open to visitors, art enthusiasts, and curious passersby.
Raki’s Colors of the Holidays
Raki’s booth at the Atrium for this edition catches wandering eyes with his colorful special exhibit entitled “Colors of the Holidays.” This showcase flaunts a collection of artworks inspired by a playful take on the popular carol “12 Days of Christmas.”
Yok and Jek’s No Diving
Another special exhibit for this MoCAF version is siblings Yok and Jek Joaquin’s No Diving collection, reimagining childlike glow and youthfulness inspired by their childhood memories. With their centerpiece entitled “God Bless Us,” Yok and Jek blended their distinct playfulness and abstraction signatures into this special collaboration.
Galerie Joaquin’s A Season of Splendor
A Season of Splendor by Galerie Joaquin is one of the two special exhibits by the gallery that was curated for this holiday art festival, featuring a roster of contemporary artists that find meaningful angles within daily narratives of Filipinos.
Galerie Joaquin’s Stellar Collections
Centering on various forms of abstract art, Galerie Joaquin’s Stellar Collections Special Exhibit at “MoCAF: The Christmas Edit!” promotes a vivid experience of boundless and imaginative artistry.
Art Corner PH’s Gallery Booth
For the first time, Art Corner PH is part of this edition’s MoCAF line-up, highlighting Filipino artists in the contemporary scene. Known for providing a space for artists, Art Corner PH presents a collection of works not bound by limitations and restrictions.
Moss Escape’s Artisan Booth
A sustainable and space-saving type of art is brought by Moss Escape at MoCAF: The Christmas Edit—terrariums. Moss Escape promotes the calming and creative art of terrarium-making.
SZN’s Artisan Booth
SZN offers a handheld artisanal product perfect for everyday usage and aesthetic fashion. For this MoCAF edition, SZN joins the line-up of artisans that bring handcrafted pieces to everyday spaces.
AMIERE’s Artisan Booth
Another fashion artisan for the MoCAF December version is AMIERE, a Korean brand slowly establishing its presence here in the Philippines.
Miniature Landscape Terrarium Workshop
Another first experience that Moss Escape brought to this special holiday MoCAF edition is the Miniature Landscape Terrarium Workshop, offered for two days: December 7 and December 13.
Return of MoCAF Discoveries Artists
The last new highlight for this edition is the diverse comeback of 64 MoCAF Discoveries Artists from the previous editions with new and recurring pieces spotlighted at the center of exhibits near the eye-catching Christmas Tree.
