Visual artists continue to surprise us by showing us how they continue working even when life seems to have come to a halt. Given that international travel is challenging during this time, London Asia Contemporary Art (Lacaart) holds a solo exhibition titled “Bliss” featuring the works of Filipino artist, Jayson Cortez.
“After ten years’ [of] experience as a full-time artist, this group of paintings is a visual representation of my deep joy. This state of bliss I experience runs from play through to freedom and knowledge. My storytelling leads the viewers into my personal world of satisfaction and pleasure,” Cortez says. According to the artist he spent 2 years preparing for his first exhibition in London.
Cortez originally studied Civil Engineering but changed direction to pursue the arts, graduating in 2010 with a BA Fine Arts (Major in Advertising) from Bulacan State University, Philippines.
“Bliss” is made possible by One East Asia, an exhibitor at Laca Art who represents Cortez in Singapore and in the United Kingdom. View available works at https://lacaart.com/exhibitor/one-east-asia/
