PARIS, 03 December 2021 – A Filipino-French documentary on volunteerism entitled “Voluntaire” (Volunteer), was screened on 18 and 27 November 2021 in Brest, France.
“Voluntaire” documented the five-year journey of Louie Talents and Morgan Quiguer, both artists, as they lived and worked on various art projects with the Manobo-Tigwahanon indigenous people of the Philippines. Their project culminated in the creation of a cultural center for the village. Viewers found the film to be honest, moving and “very human.”
The documentary was screened in celebration of the Festival des Solidarité (Festival of Solidarities) or Festisol, an annual event in France that seeks to promote international solidarity for a world that is more equitable, united and sustainable. This is the 23rd year of the festival.
After the screening, Mr. Talents and Ms. Quiguer opened their art and photo exhibit “Dikotomiya” organized in collaboration with the Filipino community organization Bayanihan Breizh-Pinoy Brest France at the Patronage Laïque du Pilier Rouge.

The art exhibit was attended by members of the Filipino community in Brest and French nationals with familial affiliation or volunteer organizations in the Philippines.
