In the heart of Manila, along the pulse of Malate, Sheraton Manila Bay now wears a new distinction: Green Globe Certification

This accolade poses an emblem, a material trace of the hotel’s commitment to sustainability, a recognition of its care for both environment and community. Here, luxury does not compromise responsibility; every gesture, from the corridors to the cuisine, is imbued with intention.

Sculpting sustainability

Under the stewardship of General Manager Richard Masselin, Sheraton Manila Bay has orchestrated a choreography of sustainable practice.

“Green Globe strengthens our desire to operate responsibly every day. Sustainability guides our decisions, shapes our guest experience, and defines our behaviors,” Masselin affirms.

The hotel’s sustainability ethos is encoded in its daily operations, extending from housekeeping to guest services, and through a cross-functional Green Team that ensures each action resonates with purpose.

Energy, water, and waste are not merely managed—they are curated. LED lighting illuminates corridors and function spaces, high-efficiency systems hum quietly behind the scenes, and conservation strategies shape even back-of-house operations.

Waste segregation, recycling, and food minimization are not policies but practices woven into the hotel’s rhythm, reflecting a philosophy that responsibility is as much art as it is management.

The culinary palette

In the kitchens, sustainability transforms into flavor.

Sheraton Manila Bay’s culinary team collaborates with local producers, sourcing seasonal ingredients and designing menus that honor both taste and ethics.

The Serve 360 program guides their choices, ensuring that each dish carries forward an ethos of care, reducing excess and supporting community ecosystems. Each plate becomes a canvas, each ingredient a brushstroke in a composition that is both mindful and indulgent.

Community and consciousness

Beyond environmental stewardship, the hotel’s vision extends outward to society. Through initiatives like the Operation Smile Art Auction and Benefit Dinner, associates channel creativity into impact, blending artistry and advocacy.

Engagements with Marriott Worldwide Business Councils and local outreach programs reinforce Sheraton Manila Bay’s belief that a hotel’s influence should ripple into neighborhoods, schools, and the lives of those often unheard.

A horizon of responsibility

Awarded on January 6, 2026, the Green Globe certification marks a milestone, yet Sheraton Manila Bay treats it as a waypoint rather than a summit.

Guided by Masselin, the hotel continues to explore innovation, deepen operational excellence, and expand community partnerships, crafting a hospitality experience where care is palpable, visible, and enduring.

Here, sustainability becomes a language, a pattern, a visible thread through architecture, operations, and human connection. In every light, every plate, and every gesture, the hotel invites guests to witness the art of thoughtful hospitality, where every choice matters and every moment resonates.
