Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse met in 1906 during Picasso's "Rose Period," a time when he was experimenting with a softer palette of pinks and earth tones. Matisse, on the other hand, was exploring the use of vivid colors and flat shapes.

Their partnership resulted in a cross-pollination of ideas that would define the development of modern art. Matisse was inspired by Picasso's use of color, which led him to experiment with brighter hues in his own work. Picasso, in turn, was influenced by Matisse's use of flat shapes and patterns, which he incorporated into his own compositions.

Taking a cue from this artistic kinship, and in celebrating a decade of Altro Mondo and The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences' partnership, "The Rose Period" serves as a testimony to the power of collaboration and artistic exploration.

Over the years, Altro Mondo and The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences have created a unique space where art and hospitality converge, a sanctuary for those who seek the pleasures of artistic exploration and creative expression, and a hub for art lovers to flourish in the heart of Makati's busy metropolis. The gallery has hosted numerous exhibitions over the years, showcasing the works of established artists as well as emerging talents.

Altro Mondo Arte Contemporanea is proud to present The Rose Period, a group exhibition featuring the works of Karl Lago, Bayani Galera, Jojo Soria De Veyra, Janos Delacruz, Joseph Gandiongco, Dana Bote, Emmanuel Nim, Harddy Santos, James Fowler, and Melvene Aquende at the Altro Mondo @ The Picasso. The exhibition will run from May 18 to July 17.

The exhibit is a shining testament to the power of collaboration and experimentation in the arts and the deep-rooted passion for creativity shared by Altro Mondo and The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences, a space where imagination and inspiration are limitless.
