Culture reflects identity and diversity, preserving traditions and experiences through the arts. Taipei Dangdai remains committed to fostering meaningful dialogue between Taiwan and the international art community.

Magnus Renfrew, Co-Founder and Co-Director of Taipei Dangdai, shares his excitement and honor in welcoming world-class artworks, international galleries, and global visitors to Taiwan.

In partnership with UBS, the sixth edition of Taipei Dangdai Arts & Ideas marks a significant milestone and will take place from May 9 to 11, 2025, at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. The fair will spotlight the vibrant and ever-evolving artistic landscape of Taiwan.

Galleries and emerging artists

The fair features three main exhibition sectors, offering a vital platform for groundbreaking contemporary art. Taipei Dangdai welcomes top-tier international galleries, including returning names such as Galerie EIGEN + ART (Leipzig/Berlin), Galleria Continua, Kaikai Kiki Gallery, Ota Fine Arts, and SCAI THE BATHHOUSE. Newcomers this year include the prestigious Galerie Karsten Greve and Almine Rech, marking their debut in the Galleries sector.

Leading Taipei-based galleries also return, reinforcing the strength of the local scene. These include Tina Keng Gallery, Lin & Lin Gallery, Asia Art Center, Chini Gallery, Each Modern, MICHAEL KU GALLERY, and TKG+.

The Edge sector returns with a focus on bold, singular presentations by emerging artists. Highlights include Song Ta (presented by Ginkgo Space) and Kieren Karritpul (presented by COMA). This year, a special section is dedicated to galleries working at the intersection of art, craft, and design, featuring standout names such as Soluna Fine Art and ARTCOURT Gallery.

Talks and cultural exchange

Adding depth to the fair’s programming, Taipei Dangdai will host an unmissable keynote lecture on April 13, 2025, by Hans Ulrich Obrist, Artistic Director of the Serpentine in London. Recognized as one of the most influential curators and cultural thinkers of our time, Obrist brings decades of conversations with visionary minds across art, architecture, science, and music.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Taipei Dangdai will also present a special exhibition spotlighting the intersection of technology and Taiwanese artistic innovation. This year marks the launch of a new annual showcase, debuting with Li Yi-Fan’s thought-provoking works that explore themes of digital technology, online information, and artificial intelligence.
