Ever wondered what happens when Hollywood’s hottest stars don their most iconic looks and step right into the worlds of their blockbuster hits? These magazine covers don’t just dress celebrities for the occasion—they transform them into their on-screen alter egos, making it feel like the characters themselves are gracing the covers. Buckle up, because we’re diving into some of the most immersive, show-stopping magazine covers ever created!

Barbie

Last year marked an iconic summer with the Barbie movie’s promotional campaign, with everyone from the actors on the red carpet to the moviegoers at the theater donning pink in celebration. Even Vogue joined in on the pink craze with its issue for Margot Robbie, not only having her sport the iconic color but also filling the rest of the space with this vibrant shade of pink.

Marie Antoinette

The classic film brought a twist to period piece adaptations with its glamorous, chick-flick dreamscape depiction of French royalty before the French Revolution. This glitz and glamour extended into an exclusive Vogue photoshoot, featuring Kirsten Dunst in different styles and elaborate sets, with the cover showcasing her in the famed powdered wig.

Star Wars

Vanity Fair has been sporting Star Wars-themed covers and photoshoots with the cast since 1999, bringing iconic characters like C-3PO, R2-D2, and Jar Jar Binks to grace the covers along with Liam Neeson and Natalie Portman. The most recent trilogy follows the same tradition, featuring its newer cast of characters and bringing back Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker for the photoshoots.

Gone Girl

One of the two covers based on the renowned psychological thriller, this cover of 2014’s Gone Girl features Rosamund Pike and Ben Affleck in a wedding portrait-like setting shot by director David Fincher himself, capturing the eerie, unsettling nature behind the surface-level composure of the main characters.

House of the Dragon

The Game of Thrones franchise, a beloved supernatural series, often features its characters on the covers of magazines, in addition to their actors. Not only are the actors graced in full costume, but the sets and backgrounds immerse the audience by having them appear almost in character.
