Imagine opening your childhood closet and finding clothes you’ve worn during your younger years. As you sift through each piece, memories come flooding back to your mind, and with them, ideas of reimagining and elevating your favorite pieces come to mind.
That sense of nostalgia is at the heart of Sandy Liang's collaboration with the GAP collection that mirrors both the brands’ hyper-feminine, timeless, and comfortable style.

“GAP was like my holy grail growing up, like my whole brand is focused on my childhood, and like nostalgia, and all that sort of stuff, and a huge part of my childhood is going to Gap and having one major haul once a year,” Liang said in an animated interview with GAP on TikTok.
The collection consists of a 21-piece womenswear and four-piece GAP Baby clothing pieces, priced from $15 to $268, in the color palette and fashion perfect for the autumn season. At the core of the collection, Liang reimagined the iconic GAP fleece fit for the chilly weather with the Extra Heavyweight Logo Oversized Hoodie and the Heavyweight Bow Oversized Hoodie.
For extra layers, the collection offers fashionable outerwear, a Reversible Vegan Leather Sherpa Jacket, a Vegan Fur Half-Zip Pullover, and a Bow-Back Trench Coat, with Liang’s iconic bow detail.
Meanwhile, Liang added her style to GAP’s staple denims, including the Pleated Denim Mini Skirt, the Vegan Fur Crop Denim Jacket, and Low Rise ’90s Loose Carpenter Jeans.
To introduce the collection, GAP released Sandy’s Dream Closet, an animated teaser by artist Annie Choi, released on October 8, 2025, that mirrors nostalgia with little Sandy Liang dressing up and dreaming about her future.
The animation teased some of the pieces in the collection, while also showing a sense of what inspired Liang in designing the pieces–her childhood memories and aspirations.
“I hope they think back to when they were getting ready for school as a kid,” Liang said. “All the possibilities, all the dreams that they had, and all the wonder of just like being a kid.”
Liang is a Chinese-American designer based in New York. She established her fashion brand in 2014 after graduating from Parsons School of Design.
She takes inspiration from her childhood memories from the environment in Chinatown and their family restaurant, combining contemporary trends with 90s nostalgia.
The style and design Liang are easily recognizable, with the signature bow details, star prints, Mary Jane shoes, lace trims, and pastel hues.
This design blends well with contemporary trends like the coquette outfit aesthetic, dressing up in pastel colors, with vintage and hyper-feminine looks.
The aesthetic of her design has become a fashion staple that can be seen worn by different celebrities, such as Olivia Rodrigo, Jennie Kim, and many more.
The collection sparks childhood, but makes it wearable–a warm hug of the past blending into the present.
The limited-edition collection was released in selected GAP stores on October 10. It will also be available in international stores, including the Middle East, the Czech Republic, the Philippines, Mexico, Turkey, Japan, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom.
Stitched with bows, shaped with denim, and wrapped in nostalgia, this collection is more than fashion–it is a memory you can carry.
