Romblon isn’t exactly as popular as Boracay or El Nido, but that's precisely where it finds its charm.

Tucked away in the enchanting MIMAROPA region of the Philippines, this archipelagic haven is a hidden gem waiting to be experienced. Comprising several main islands, including the expansive Tablas and the verdant Sibuyan, Romblon Island, the provincial capital, serves as a gateway to this idyllic paradise. It’s surrounded by smaller island municipalities, each with its own unique charisma.

Quite literally located at the heart of the Philippine archipelago, Romblon is surrounded by deep waters and bordered by Masbate to the east, Mindoro to the west, Marinduque to the north, and Panay to the south. The islands scattered throughout the region are primarily accessible via sea transportation, with the exception of Tablas Island, which hosts a domestic airport situated in the municipality of Alcantara.

Marveled with Marble

Romblon proudly upholds its title as “The Marble Capital of the Philippines.” Its marble industry stands as a cornerstone of the economy, with the province accounting for most of all marble production in the Philippines.

The towns of Odiongan and Mabini emerge as the epicenters of Romblon’s marble trade, where quarries and factories hum with activity. Here, skilled artisans produce tiles, sinks, and countertops, transforming raw marble into works of art that have left an indelible mark on architectural wonders worldwide. This enduring tradition traces its roots back centuries to the era of Spanish colonization, and today, Romblon's marble industry continues to flourish.

There’s Something for Everyone in Romblon

Are you planning your next trip to the beach? Waterfalls? Cave? Whether you’re an adventure junkie or a laidback traveler, there's something fun for everyone to explore in this nature-rich destination.

Romblon is filled with life and tranquility courtesy of its virgin beaches, natural caves, falls, and lagoons, and is surrounded by giant rock formations that command attention. The iconic Bonbon Beach, in particular, stands out with its extra fine white sand, crystal-clear water, and majestic sand bar. Stretching for nearly 2 kilometers, the sandbar connects Bon Bon Beach to Bang-og, a smaller, uninhabited island. This impressive feature ranks among the longest sandbars in the Philippines.
