When it comes to crafting dreamlike escapes, the Oetker Collection never misses a beat. Known for curating a constellation of iconic Masterpiece Hotels, from the storied Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes to the chic Eden Rock in St. Barths, their properties are synonymous with glamour, sophistication, and timeless elegance. Now, the collection is adding another jewel to its crown—a Masterpiece Hotel in the heart of St. Tropez, set to open its doors in 2027.
This announcement is nothing short of thrilling for jet-setters and design enthusiasts alike. Following the success of Hotel La Palma in Capri and the upcoming Vineta Hotel in Palm Beach, the St. Tropez property promises to elevate luxury hospitality once more, bringing together exquisite craftsmanship, architectural innovation, and the allure of the French Riviera.
A Hamlet in Harmony with Nature
Nestled between the iconic town of St. Tropez and the idyllic beaches of Pampelonne, the yet-to-be-named property will transform the former Le Mas Bellevue site into a sanctuary of tranquility. The vision? A Provencal hamlet of 11 interconnected houses, each designed to blend seamlessly into the lush natural surroundings. Architects Triptyque and interior designers Gilles & Boissier are spearheading this project, ensuring that every detail resonates with understated elegance.
“The hillside embracing the hotel is more than a backdrop—it’s part of the experience,” shares Olivier Raffaëlli, a founding partner of Triptyque. With panoramic sea views, Mediterranean vegetation, and an ethos of blending architecture with the environment, the property invites guests to immerse themselves in the soul of St. Tropez.
A Celebration of Design
Inside, Patrick Gilles and Dorothée Boissier have envisioned spaces that reflect the laid-back sophistication of the Riviera. The design evokes a sense of intimacy and serenity—imagine arched windows framing sea vistas, textured plaster walls with delicate patterns, and warm wooden beams reminiscent of Provençal farmhouses. “It’s about embracing the essentials,” says Boissier. “Here, everything is within reach, immediate and near, like the caress of the sea breeze on your face.”
In the guest rooms, raw wood panels, rope accents, and soft pastels complement the stunning outdoor views. Each terrace or patio becomes a private haven, inviting guests to revel in the harmony of land, sea, and sky.
Experiencing St. Tropez, Masterfully
This 53-room retreat will feature an oversized infinity pool, expansive wellness facilities, and an exceptional bar and restaurant showcasing local flavors. The gardens—designed with olive trees, native plants, and climbing vines—further the hotel’s commitment to sustainability and preserving the beauty of the region.
Timo Gruenert, CEO of Oetker Collection, calls it “a masterpiece in the making.” He continues, “St. Tropez has always been a beloved destination for our guests. This property captures the region’s authenticity and sophistication, creating a haven that feels both private and convivial.”
A Legacy of Elegance
The St. Tropez Masterpiece Hotel underscores the Oetker Collection’s philosophy: to expand thoughtfully and intentionally, selecting only the world’s most glamorous locations. Whether sipping rosé by the infinity pool or wandering through artfully landscaped gardens, this property will encapsulate the essence of St. Tropez—timeless, elegant, and unforgettable.
Mark your calendars for 2027, the Côte d'Azur is calling.
