For 150 years, Louis Poulsen has consistently illuminated homes, offices, and public spaces. Throughout this time, it has fostered relationships, facilitated communication, and created connections wherever its lights have shone.

To mark this milestone, Louis Poulsen—the First House of Light—celebrates its 150th anniversary by showcasing lighting designs that transcend time and borders, combining innovative functionality with enduring style.

Special Anniversary Designs

Under the theme "The He(art) of Light," Louis Poulsen has curated a special exhibit that reflects both the brand’s rich heritage and its visionary future. Inspired by contemporary museums, the exhibition offers an immersive experience featuring the brand’s most iconic designs.

Among the showcased pieces is the exclusive 150th-anniversary edition of Louis Poulsen’s renowned lights. One such piece is the PH Artichoke, which captivated guests with its extraordinary, leaf-like design. This edition is limited to 300 individually numbered pieces.

Another standout design is the AJ Mini Lamp, celebrated for its minimalist style with a tiltable shade that directs light downward, making it ideal for reading or spotlighting. The AJ series includes everything from table lamps to floor lamps.

Also part of the anniversary collection is the PH5, which features Henningsen’s three-shade system, ensuring soft, pleasant, and glare-free light—perfect for dining tables.

Colin Dancel’s Special Photo Exhibit

Adding another layer to the celebration is a photo exhibit by renowned photographer Colin Dancel, who explores the interplay of light and movement, capturing the essence of emotion and form.

With the immersive museum layout, the photo exhibit allows guests to experience light not just as a source of illumination, but as a dynamic entity that evolves, moves, and shapes perception.

Colin’s work showcases the creativity and vibrancy of the country’s artistic community while highlighting Louis Poulsen’s global impact.

Continuing the Legacy

Since 1874, Louis Poulsen has upheld its mission as the first house of light, inspiring people through remarkable craftsmanship and collaborations with world-class designers.

Louis Poulsen’s "The He(art) of Light" exhibit, along with Colin Dancel’s photo gallery, is available for viewing until September 15 on the 29th floor of the Twenty-Four Seven McKinley Building, BGC.
