
Visayas Art Fair 2021
The first Visayas Art Fair is happening on 25 to 28 November at the Montebello Villa Hotel in Cebu.
Galleries and art collectives from the Visayas region and NCR are featured in the event. Along with the main onsite art exhibit, there will be other pocket events, art installations, and pop-up stores all over the region.
Art talks, competitions, live performances, and demonstrations will also be held with the special participation of the Jose Joya Arts Awardees and UP Cebu professors.
A retrospective exhibition of renowned Cebuano abstract expressionist Tito Cuevas will also be mounted.
“I ❤ Filipino Design” activity book will be launched at the CDW Pop-up Market Area. It showcases a wide array of unique pieces of functional designs, paintings, and art objects. 100% of the proceeds will go to the foundation’s efforts in helping marginalized creatives from different sectors.
Participating galleries from Visayas: Adeste Deguilmo, Aroma Art Gallery, Art Portal, CAI, Dramus Art Gallery, Florentino, UP Cebu Jose Joya Gallery, NANO, Orange Project, PASPI, Qube Gallery, Southwest Art Club, Solitaryo Cinco, Women Artists.
Participating galleries from NCR: Leon Gallery, Metro Gallery, Mono8 Gallery, R Gallery, Secret Fresh, The Working Animals Art Project, Vinyl on Vinyl.
A digital execution of the art fair will be online for those who wish to view the programs online.
Visayas Art Fair featured exhibition, “BY NO MEANS”, is a group show featuring 10 Visayan women artists: Amelia Duwenhoegger from Dumaguete, Karina Broce-Gonzaga, Elwah Gonzales and Angela Silva from Bacolod, Gabi Nazareno from Bohol, Shiela Molato from Iloilo, and Golda King, Jan Sunday, Greys Lockheart, and Alyssa Selanova from Cebu. Exhibit runs from 18 to 21 November 2021 at the Montebello Villa Hotel, Cebu City.
Visayas Art Fair is spearheaded by the organizers of Cebu Design Week, National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas (OPAV), and the Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation (CFIF).
