Last October we attended the 10th edition of FilipinaZ, Zonta Makati and Environs' (ZCME) annual fundraiser, where art, fashion, and fine jewelry met for a cause like no other. For a decade now, FilipinaZ has been a stage where creativity knows no bounds. A haven for those who appreciate creativity in all its facets, whether in tangible materialisms or in the inspiring people we meet.

Maritess Pineda, former President of ZCME and FilipinaZ Chairperson, sets the stage, saying, "FilipinaZ has always been inclined towards the arts. Many of our members are avid art collectors and patrons. We also have several artists from different fields who are part of the organization."

Art for Empowerment, Advocacy, and Service

Beyond its artistic allure, FilipinaZ stands as a beacon of empowerment, advocacy, and service. Maritess Pineda reminds us that at the core of these creative expressions lies a steadfast commitment to fundraising for meaningful causes. ZCME's dedication to supporting various projects that empower women and enhance their quality of life is truly commendable.

Melissa Romualdez, working closely with Maritess in ZCME’s Ways and Means Committee, emphasizes, “This is what sets FilipinaZ apart. At the very heart of it is the advocacy of Zonta, and those you purchase at the event know they are helping the organization’s causes. We are, at our very essence, a club formed for women in the arts and business.”

A Celebration of the Creative Spirit

This year's FilipinaZ took a leap forward by dedicating more space to art. It's not just about fundraising; it's about nurturing artistic growth. A fresh and inclusive perspective is brought by Ayni Nuyda, curator of the Art Pavilion, who featured different galleries from various locations within and outside Metro Manila. It was obvious that their goal was to expand the perspective of collectors.

The centerpiece of the event, the Art Pavilion, showcased a wide array of galleries and artistic expressions. It was a unique opportunity to discover new artists, galleries, and art platforms that may not be found elsewhere.

FilipinaZ Luminaries

The 10th edition of FilipinaZ is all about celebrating women who are living art, women who have channeled creativity to impact positive change in various fields. For the first time in the fundraiser's history, Anita Magsaysay-Ho, Josie Natori, Milagros Salgado-Dayrit, Sara Soliven de Guzman, and Vicky Vizcarra will be recognized as FilipinaZ Luminaries, paving the way for more women to follow in their footsteps.

The portraits of these distinguished women, created by street muralist Venazir Martinez, adorned the Art Pavilion, offering guests a visually captivating journey into the world of these pioneering ladies.

Everyday Creative Expressions

Living Art knows no bounds. It permeates our lives, from the clothes we wear to the jewelry we adorn. This year, FilipinaZ brings you a broader approach to showcasing wearable art in the main function hall. It's an immersive experience, inviting you to explore the various expressions of creativity in garments, precious gems, and other decorative items.

FilipinaZ has consistently built a brand that women can trust. With its ever-evolving art experience, the event has garnered a loyal following of individuals who share the same ethos of uncompromising excellence and service. It’s a place where connections are made, and where participants become part of an advocacy that resonates with their values.
