Criselda Lontok, an iconic name in the world of fashion, has dressed career-driven and stylish women both locally and internationally. Just as flowers follow their natural cycle of blossoming, blooming, and wilting, Criselda's journey through the world of design reflects a similar evolution, in which fond and elegant memories are cherished among many sophisticated women of style. Behind this celebrated label was Criselda herself, a woman of grace and charm who handpicked fabrics, meticulously designed silhouettes, and oversaw the creation of her fashionable pieces. Her career was marked by a genuine passion for her craft, leaving an indelible imprint on the fashion industry.

Two years ago, Criselda moved on, leaving a treasure trove of unworn personal outfits and haute couture masterpieces. In tribute to the designer who clothed Manila's elite, Rustan's management and Criselda's children conceived the "Criselda Retrospective." This event, with major sponsors HSBC and Givenchy, celebrates her enduring legacy and contribution to the city's powerful and privileged circles. Criselda's journey through the fashion world remains a testament to an impassioned and memorable woman.

Unveiling Criselda's Creations

Under the umbrella of the Criselda Retrospective, two exceptional events shine brightly, each offering a unique perspective on the indomitable spirit of Criselda Lontok:

On the 14th of September, the Criselda Retrospective Exhibit gracefully opens its doors, offering a privileged view of Criselda Lontok's enduring artistry. A curated selection of her timeless masterpieces is presented to the public at Rustan's Gallerie, located on the 2nd floor of Rustan’s Makati. This exhibition is a journey through her remarkable career, showcasing meticulously crafted fashion pieces that have left an indelible mark on the world of style.

Following the week-long exhibit, the spotlight turns to the Criselda Retrospective Auction, a pinnacle of sophistication and grace. León Gallery becomes the host for an exclusive gathering of fashion connoisseurs and philanthropists. Here, held on the 3rd floor of Rustan’s Makati, some of Criselda's most iconic creations will find new homes through an invitation-only auction. Notably, the proceeds from this auction will be dedicated to Criselda's beloved charity, Bantay Bata 163, adding a profound layer of meaning to this glamorous affair, where fashion meets a noble cause.

The collection features elegant ball gowns adorned with the timeless rose motif in lilac and black, three-piece ensembles showcasing embossed oriental hummingbirds or the French fleur-de-lis, and tent dresses crafted from solid shantung or adorned with striking black polka dots on vibrant torrero red fabric.

A Tale of Passion and Purpose

Criselda's journey with Rustan's began when she applied for a job and initially served as a buyer and merchandiser. As a young wife and mother, Criselda believed in her potential to make a difference in the world. The formidable Glecy Tantoco, the matriarch of the premier luxury purveyor, became her mentor, entrusting her with numerous responsibilities while instilling the right work ethic and self-belief in her.

It didn't take long for Criselda's designs to become a must-have for Manila's prominent women. They embraced her creations not only for grand events but also for everyday occasions, whether it was socializing with friends, shopping at the mall, or relaxing at home with family. From day dresses to afternoon ensembles, cocktail attire, or exquisite evening gowns, her clientele appreciated the convenience she provided. They entrusted Criselda's fashion advice, her sense of style, and, most importantly, her ability to complement their personal fashion preferences.

In the world of Manila's fashion, Criselda Lontok's legacy is a testament to timeless design, impeccable craftsmanship, and a deep connection with her clientele.

Celebrate the genius of Rustan's leading designer for women this September and immerse yourself in a world of elegance, philanthropy, and style at the Criselda Retrospective.
